Still skating & surfing at 50. I can't get enough.

My name is Kevin Kritz. I'm a skateboarder from the Pt Loma/Ocean Beach area of San Diego. I was a competitor at the Del Mar Nationals in 1975. The Del Mar Nationals Skateboard Contest was sponsored by Bahne and Cadillac Wheels. I skated in both the freestyle and slalom events against Tony Alva, Jay Adams, Stacy Peralta, Bruce Logan, and all the other legendary old-school skaters of the era. If you see either "Dogtown and the Z Boys" or"The Lords of Dogtown", check the numbers worn by the contestants in the Del Mar contest. Below is the bib number that I wore... the original item. Do you have any pictures or video of the contest? If you do, I would really like to see what you have. Later in my early skateboarding career I worked at Del Mar Skateboard Ranch with Grant Brittain, a guy who has gone on to become one of the greatest skate photographers. Back in the day I rode in some of the ASPO (Association of Skate Park Owners) contests. I snagged a 2nd place ribbon in the Del Mar Skateboard Ranch ASPO contest in 1979. Nowadays, I just skate and have fun, do some frontside grinds, high speed carves, one wheelers, etc... and of course my favorite move of em all, the tail tap.

STOP THE TOLL ROAD- SAVE TRESTLES!
At the center of the last remaining pristine coastal watershed in southern California, San Mateo Creek supports world-class surfing and provides irreplaceable habitat for a variety of fish and wildlife. But a proposed 16-mile long toll road threatens to slice through San Mateo Creek causing significant damage to the watershed and to surfing at the famous Trestles Beach, whose reef depends upon the San Mateo for sand and cobbles. Unless the California Coastal Commission and other state and federal agencies deny permits for this toll road, southern California runs the risk of losing one of its best remaining natural and recreational assets.
